Xuper TV: quietly one of the most polished free live-TV apps

We spent two weeks with the current build across three devices. Here is what we found.

4.6 / 5

The player is the story

The headline upgrade in the 4.x line was the rewritten player. In practice, that means channels start faster (usually under two seconds on a wired Firestick), the adaptive engine handles a soft Wi-Fi signal without stalling, and switching audio tracks no longer restarts the stream.

Device coverage

Xuper TV is one of the few free apps that behaves properly on every Android surface. On our Android TV box the remote focus stays where you expect it. On Firestick, the app respects the D-pad. On a phone, picture-in-picture works as a normal Android citizen.

Where it still trails

There's no 4K output today and the on-demand catalog is smaller than a dedicated VOD app. If those matter to you, pair Xuper TV with an alternative.

Pros

  • Fast, reliable player
  • Broad device support
  • Clean UI on TV
  • Monthly updates
  • Lightweight footprint

Cons

  • No 4K playback
  • Smaller VOD library than dedicated services
  • Sideload setup on TV takes 5 minutes

Verdict

If your main use case is free live TV in Spanish, Xuper TV is the default recommendation. Install it, spend five minutes wiring up favorites and an EPG region, and it becomes the app you keep coming back to.
